Tokyo 2020 - Two more competition venues reopen

After the closures due to the coronavirus epidemic, two more competition venues will be reopened by the organizers of the Tokyo Olympics postponed to next summer.

The city administration has announced that the Ariake Tennis Park will be open to sports federations from Sunday to November 2 and will be open to the general public.

The Metropolitan Gymnasium, which hosts a table tennis competition, will only be open to trade unions from 21 December to 31 March.

However, the athletics track, indoor pools and gyms that are part of the complex will not be reopened to the public for the safety of the five-ring games.

Previously, the competition venues for swimming, turfball and badminton have also been reopened, but entry and stay can only be done with strict precautions.

The Olympics will take place from July 23 to August 8, 2021, and the Paralympics will be held from August 24 to September 5 in Tokyo.
