Tokyo 2020 - Tamara Csipes won a silver medal in 500 singles, this time Kozák finished fourth

Tamara Csipes won a silver medal in the 500-meter kayak competition at the Tokyo Olympics, while Danuta Kozák, who arrived in the Japanese capital as a two-time defending champion, this time lagged behind the podium, finishing fourth.

In the most watched number of women, the two biggest Hungarian opponent, New Zealand star Lisa Carrington, who shoveled the two Hungarians on the side, 5 and 6, cut her to the distance from the 3rd.

On the 4th, the mostly 200 specialist Swedish Linnea Stensils pulled into the start machine, so - to increase the tension even more - the start had to be repeated. This was what Carrington did best, so much so that after fifty yards he was practically shoveling half a boat length ahead of the field.

The Hungarians didn't start well, but then Csipes connected, he was already in second place at 250 meters, and he was able to maintain this position in the second half of the distance. Although he tried to attack New Zealand, he had no chance of catching up. Meanwhile, the 34-year-old, five-time Olympic champion of Ferencváros, Kozák, shoveled in fifth place at 250, and finished this fourth in his hair, lagging far behind the podium finishers.

Confidently winning the number, Lisa Carrington is already at three golds in Tokyo and wants to finish fourth with the four - writing sports history. He is, by the way, the first in this issue since 1996 and Rita Kőbán, who also won the Olympics as a current world trouble.

The four-time Olympic champion, a total of eight-time world and nine-time European champion Csipes - whose coach is his father, also Olympic champion Ferenc Csipes - won the second five-ring coin of his career, and when he landed he was very happy to shake his fist.

Honvéd's 31-year-old kayaker has the 85th five-ring coin of the Hungarian kayak-canoe sport, and the 15th medal, the seventh silver, from the point of view of the Tokyo Olympic team.
