The Dallas football team was disqualified from the league due to the plethora of coronavirus cases

Due to too many coronavirus illnesses, FC Dallas will not be able to participate in the resumption of the North American Professional Football League (MLS), which would resume two days after the forced break due to the pandemic.

Ten players and one staff member were infected in Dallas on Monday, according to an MLS announcement. The team has already traveled to Florida, where the MLS tournament is being held at the Disney World entertainment center. Those affected were quarantined.

FC Dallas has indicated it has accepted the MLS decision. Texas is one of the U.S. states hardest hit by the coronavirus epidemic.

The tournament will resume after a break of nearly four months. The 26 teams will be divided into six groups, and the teams will have three group matches on 16 game days, which will count towards the regular season. 16 teams from the groups will advance to the playoffs, the winner of which will qualify for the North and Central American Champions League. The final will be held on August 11, with a total prize pool of $ 1.1 million.

After the summer tournament, the regular season, which was interrupted after only two rounds on March 12, will continue as usual, and its schedule has yet to be redesigned.
