25 years of success story: INTERSPAR is celebrating its anniversary in Hungary
As a pioneer, SPAR introduced the hypermarket format in Hungary. 25 years ago, the first INTERSPAR was opened in Győr, today 34 stores serve customer needs nationwide. The success of the business format was based on a wide range of goods, additional services, good accessibility, family-friendly solutions and continuous modernization. (X)
Rich selection of goods - also for special needs
In addition to INTERSPAR's rich and high-quality food and fresh produce, household items, toys, kitchenware, stationery and textiles are also available. Thanks to the store lines, it is possible to carry out daily and large-scale shopping in one place. Hypermarkets sell more than 30,000 goods, and the number of own-brand products is nearly 3,000. In INTERSPARs, the supply for special needs nutrition is constantly expanding with vegan, organic, lactose and gluten-free products. In several stores, INTERSPAR to Go also offers freshly prepared hot and cold food.
Close to customers
The hypermarkets of the retail chain have mostly been built in residential areas, in the inner districts of the settlements, so INTERSPARs are easily accessible on foot and by public transport, and hundreds of free parking spaces await car buyers. For families with children, several hypermarkets already provide a playground.
Sustainability? Naturally!
Sustainability is an increasingly important element of a company’s business policy. All new INTERSPARs incorporate environmentally friendly and energy-saving heat treatment and lighting technology. Purchases are accelerated by self-service checkouts in each of the new units as well as in the upgraded older ones. The chain also installed 33 electric vehicle charging units in 17 stores with its professional partner.
Anniversary discounts
Throughout the year, the store chain offers a number of exciting and extra discounts, as well as delights its customers with promotions that offer valuable prizes so they can celebrate the anniversary together. The first stop of this is the special promotion starting on March 5, 2020, which is the opening action of the year-round birthday campaign. Customers of INTERSPAR stores will receive a coupon for purchases worth at least HUF 7,000, which entitles them to a 5% block end discount, but if luck is next to them, it can be 10%, 15%, 25%, or even 50%. That is, they can buy so much cheaper, even at half price.
