The participation of four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel in Sunday's Formula 1 Grand Prix in Saudi Arabia is still uncertain.
The German driver of Aston Martin was infected with the coronavirus before last week's season opener in Bahrain, and according to his team, he was still unable to produce a negative test result, so his entry into Saudi Arabia is still pending.
"Nico Hülkenberg will also be there in Jeddah and, if necessary, he will drive one of our cars this time as well. We are waiting until Friday to make the final decision, because we want to give Seb every opportunity to race," reads the statement published on Aston Martin's Twitter.
Hülkenberg finished 17th in last Sunday's season opener. The Saudi race weekend begins on Friday with free practice.
