Motorsport is a dangerous genre. Formula 1 also belongs to this category, so the drivers assume the risk every time they get into a car.
At this year's Dutch Grand Prix, Ricciardo maneuvered his car into the wall to avoid his teammate's car. Piastri went ahead, who crashed into the rubber wall, and Ricciardo had to decide in a fraction of a second: drive his car into Piastri or into the wall.
He chose the wall. With this feat, he actually avoided a collision with the other, but he himself was injured in the collision with the wall. So much so that since then he has been recovering from the surgery that was performed on him after breaking the metacarpal bone.
All of this means that he was not present in Monza either, but he cannot participate in the next race in Singapore and the subsequent race in Japan either.
