Mrs. Hamilton is the pole at the British Grand Prix

Defending champion and six-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, the British driver of the Mercedes, won the Formula One British Grand Prix on Saturday’s time trial so he can start from the lead in Sunday’s race.

Hamilton, 35, is in his third and 91st pole position this year, and has won the time trial for the seventh time in Silverstone.

Next to him, his teammate Valtteri Bottas from Finland can start in the race, while the third starting cube will be occupied by Max Verstappen, the Dutch driver of Red Bull.

From fourth position, Charles Leclerc of Monaco can start the race with Ferrari, while his four-time World Cup-winning teammate Sebastian Vettel of Germany finished only tenth in the qualification.

Nico Hülkenberg, who replaces coronavirus Sergio Pérez, took the 13th start, while Lance Stroll of Canada finished sixth with the other Racing Point.

The 52-lap British Grand Prix starts at 15.10 on Sunday.
