Lewis Hamilton would already be competing

The six-time world champion is very lacking in racing, he himself admits the huge space right now in his life with no races.

“This is the first time since I was eight that I don’t start a season, I miss racing every day,” Hamilton wrote on his community page.

However, the 35-year-old British star drew attention in the post to the "positives" he said people should find during the period of restrictive measures imposed as the pandemic spread.

“Today, we are seeing cleaner air around the world, fewer animals being slaughtered to meet people’s needs, simply because our needs have been lowered,” Hamilton said.

The Mercedes racer encouraged his followers not to go on with their lives the way they had previously lived and change their habits after the epidemic.

“Let’s get out of all this while renewing: being fitter, healthier, more attentive, but above all kinder, more generous, benevolent, and caring for our world and the people who live in it,” Hamilton wrote.

Organizers announced on Monday that they would not be able to host the French Grand Prix at the end of June, which is already the tenth race weekend to fall behind in the plight.

Out of a season scheduled for 22 races, 15 to 18 races will be staged by the sport’s managers, who are now working to kick off the 71st World Championship season in early July in Austria.

During the epidemic, more than three million people worldwide have been infected and more than 205,000 have died, according to Monday's data.
