László Tóth will start in the Formula 3 car speed championship this year in the colors of the Spanish Campos Racing.
According to Wednesday's announcement by the management of the 20-year-old Hungarian competitor, the parties have signed a one-year contract, which can optionally be extended for another year.
Among the Hungarian riders, Tamás Kiss Pál last reached the Formula 3 category - in 2011 and 2012 the series was still called GP3 - and before that it was the only Hungarian Formula 1 driver, Zsolt Baumgartner. in this machine class.
The Formula 3 field will be the deposit race of the elite category at seven Formula 1 Grand Prix this year, including the Hungarian Grand Prix at the end of July and the beginning of August.
"It is a pleasure and an honor to be able to continue my racing career at such a long-established stable, in which I would like to move forward step by step as before. This will be my first F3 season, of course the primary goal is continuous learning and gaining as much experience as possible" - The announcement quoted László Tóth, who achieved the best result of the Hungarian delegation at the 2019 Motorsport Games Motorsport Olympics, after finishing fourth and seventh among the Formula 4 riders, respectively.
Tóth competed in the Forma Renault European Cup last year and took part in several F3 tests at the end of the season, following which he agreed with Campos.
Adrián Campos, the founder-owner of the Spanish stable, established in 1998, passed away in January this year at the age of 60, and the team will continue to be run by his son.

Tóth's teammates will be Lorenzo Colombo from Italy and Amaury Cordeel from Belgium, and the season will start in Barcelona in early May. This is followed by France, Austria, then the Hungaroring, followed by the F3 field in Belgium and the Netherlands, and the season ends in the United States. Each race weekend will feature three races for the F3, so the season will consist of 21 races. This year's Formula One will feature, among others, former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher's son David and Ferrari's current F1 star Charles Leclerc's younger brother, Arthur.
