Formula 1 - Albon signed a long-term agreement with Williams

Alexander Albon from Thailand will remain the driver of the Formula 1 Williams team in the 2023 season and beyond.

The team announced on Wednesday that they had signed a long-term agreement with Albon, but it has not yet named who will be its other driver next year.

The 26-year-old Albon, born in London, made his debut in F1 in the 2019 season with Red Bull's branch team called Toro Rosso, and then transferred to the former during the season. He drove for Red Bull throughout the following season, but in 2021 he could be an F1 test driver while competing in the German Touring Car Championship (DTM). In the current season, after 13 races, Albon is in 19th place in the World Cup points standings with three points, ahead of only his teammate, Canadian Nicholas Latif, who has zero points.
