Wet World Cup - Wednesday started well for Hungarians

Hungarian swimmers had a successful morning on the fourth day of the World Championship in Quangjiang: László Cseh qualified for the semi-finals in the 200m mixed event, with Nándor Németh in the 100m fast and Boglárka Kapás and Lilián Szilágyi in the 200m butterfly. Although he did not qualify for the finals, he finished 12th in the Olympic quota in the 4x100m mixed medley.

In the pre-heats, Nándor Németh was the first of the Hungarians to start 100 meters fast: the BVSC 19-year-old runner-up was in tenth, out of his 13 races in 48.36 seconds, he was only sixth in his national top.

"I finally managed to get out, this first day didn't make it to the relay. It was great to swim with world champion Caeleb Dressel, I managed to build the race properly, maybe the last twenty-five in the afternoon would go a little better, but I don't complain so good, "said Németh, who said he would need 48 seconds to make it to the finals.
László Cseh and Péter Bernek represented the Hungarian colors in the men's 200m mixed medal: the 33-year-old veteran Czech can be considered amongst others a single Olympic and two-time World Cup silver medalist, most recently at the 2013 World Cup in Barcelona. then it became the fifth.
Czech 1: 57.79 swept far this year's best - only nine centuries worse than the final in Barcelona six years ago - and reached the semi-finals. "In the end I was tired, but I still couldn't get myself out. I had to practice a little bit. In the end I saw Seto Daija behind me, but I didn't want to burn myself, had a good time, I pulled a little. I'm really happy to get to the finals, even more so it confirms that I still have swim and I can swim, but sometimes there are problems, "said Czech, who was only 32nd in the 50m butterfly. In this regard, he noted that there was no particular problem with his butterfly, only the 2015 Kazan World Cup bronze and the 2016 London Eb silver "convinced him to be a sprinter, but unfortunately not."
Peter Bernek became 31st in 2: 02.56. "The beginning was fine, but then I felt like I was not breathing properly, whatever I was doing. Maybe it was because I was on antibiotic treatment for two weeks at home and the doctors told me I would have to undergo surgery. I'm sorry because I can do much more than that, "Bernek said.
Although the women's 200-meter butterfly was Katinka Long's second-best time in the world this year, as she swam after the national championship, European champion Kapas Boglárka and Lilán Szilágyi, who defeated her, were able to compete in this number in Kvangju. The two Hungarians swam side by side and were only beaten by world leader Hali Flickinger with this year's best in the world (2: 05.96). Bite went 2: 07.60 with the second, Szilágyi 2: 08.16 with the third time.
"We are both very happy, our next goal is to be in the finals. We were confident we could go well together," said Kapas. Szilágyi added that it was a tactical swim in the morning and they had a very good impact on each other in the Bite.
The 4x100m mixed hurdles started in Richard Bohus, Anna Stankovics, Szabó Sebastian, Katinka Long Long, finishing seventh in 3:48.44 minutes, but the Japanese were eliminated. In the final race, the Chinese finally came down to this fate, which meant that the relay was closed in 12th place, so next year the Hungarian swimmers could be in this number at the Tokyo Olympics.
"Originally, our goal was decisive, but as we saw our time, we quickly dropped it. Then it was a bit like winning the lottery," said Katinka Long.
On Wednesday night, Kristóf Milák and Tamás Kenderes will be interested in the final of the 200-meter butterfly, which will begin at 1.47 pm CET.
