In the newsletter of the Hungarian association, the national team captain Csaba Sós emphasized that he did not suggest that a larger team should not travel this time in order to save money.

"If we were to go out, the acclimatization would be eleven days, the competition would be a week, then the re-acclimatization would be a week, Christmas would come right away, that would mean four to five weeks would be lost, and knowing the competition calendar that the World Cup will also be held in February in 2024, this is the last calm a preparation period, when you can do work that can be used to level up," said the department manager.

The captain added: he did not want to take away the opportunity to start from two specialists, Sebasztián Szabó and Zsuzsanna Jakabos, all the more so because the international federation (FINA) covers the travel and subsistence costs of the two swimmers and their coach.

Last year, the World Cup was held in Abu Dhabi, where 12 Hungarian competitors took part.
