He is conscious and reacts to everything Tiger Woods, a former world-leading golfer who suffered a serious car accident in Los Angeles.
The 45-year-old star capsized in his car on Tuesday at 7 a.m. local time, from which firefighters cut him out. Los Angeles Hospital chief physician Anish Mahajan said there were several open fractures in Woods' right leg, and the tibia as well as the ankle had to be fixed with screws during the operation.
The head of the county fire department said Woods was sitting alone in the vehicle and was conscious when the professionals arrived at the scene of the accident.
“It was in a serious but stable condition, so we took it to the Los Angeles hospital,” Daryl Osby added.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident and have so far found no evidence that Tiger Woods was under the influence of any mind-altering drugs or alcohol.
The world’s best-known golfer underwent his fifth back surgery on December 23, so he hasn’t performed in tournaments in recent weeks, but last week he traveled to Los Angeles, where he hosted The Genesis Open. He then filmed on Monday, but did not arrive for recordings for the second day of the program for Golf Digest / GOLFTV.
