The year is off to a rocky start for Nadal

Rafael Nadal lost to Cameron Norrie with a set advantage, and thanks to this, after the first day of the duel, Great Britain leads 2-0 against Spain in the newly launched tennis United Cup.

The 27-year-old Norrie said: during their previous four meetings, he did not even win a game against his 22-time Grand Slam tournament winner rival, so this time he entered the field with the goal of finally succeeding in this.

Matches at the tournament in Australia, which runs until next Sunday, will consist of two women's and two men's singles, as well as one mixed doubles. The round-robin stage will be held in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney, with two groups competing in both venues. At each venue, the two group winners will play for the semi-finals, and the loser with the best record will enter the fourth place in the top four. The semi-finals and final will take place in Sydney.

15 million dollars will be distributed at the tournament, and the winners will also gain 500 world ranking points in the rankings of the ATP, which organizes the men's series, and the WTA, which combines the women's competitions, in addition to the prize money.
