Roland Garros - Fucsovics defeated fourth

In the world rankings, 63rd Fuchovich received an extremely difficult draw in Paris, as Medvedev was fifth in the rankings last year and semi-finalist at the US Open this year. However, the player from Nyíregyháza was not completely out of chances against his Russian rival, as the latter has never won a match on the main table of Roland Garros: he also said goodbye in the first round in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Fucsovics ’best result was the second round of 2018 at the slag Grand Slam tournament.

The two players have met three times so far, each time Medvedev proved to be better: in 2016 he won two in the portoroz hardcover challenger tournament, in 2018 in Monte Carlo in three slag games, while last year he won two sets in the Sofia final - hardcover.

Fucsovics, 28, started his 14th Grand Slam main event at the No. 2 stadium named after Suzanne Lenglen, keeping up with his renowned rival 4: 4 in the first set and then outsourcing the game after a break. In the first seven games of the second act, the bettor was happy five times, with a total of six breaks, but in the end the abbreviated game decided. Here, the Hungarian player played tennis more collectively, gaining five points in a series after 2-3, gaining a 2-0 advantage after 130 minutes of play. The game ended in unusual circumstances: Medvedev hit a long 5-3 advantage in the tiebreak with Fucsovics, smashed his bat in anger, and as he had a warning before, the Nyíregyháza player became the set thanks to the penalty point.

For the third stage, the Russian tennis player's game improved, but Fucsovich's got worse, so Medvedev quickly beautified it. The fourth set was reversed: the Hungarian player was able to break down immediately, and as he had a confident performance throughout his serving games, another Medvedev serving game at 4: 1 decided the outcome of the match.

Fucsovics will meet with Spanish Albert Ramos-Vinolas in the second round.
