Olympics 2032 - Brisbane is the host
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has awarded Brisbane the right to host the 2032 Summer Games.
Members voted on the Australian City, the sole candidate, at the 138th plenary session of the IOC in Tokyo on Wednesday after the organisation’s executive committee recommended Brisbane as director in June.
For the third time in the history of the Summer Games, Australia will host the Olympics in Melbourne in 1956 and Sydney in 2000.
The IOC announced at the end of February that it would have a targeted dialogue with Brisbane on the settlement, which caused a general surprise in the sports world, especially among countries, cities and national five-ring committees hoping for or thinking about a 2032 settlement. To consider and carefully consider the application issue, the presidency of the Hungarian Olympic Committee (MOB) decided on 27 January to establish the Budapest 2032 Committee, which had its inaugural meeting on 23 February.
