Men's World Tennis Championship - Medvedev in the lead, Fuchovich 35

Serbian Novak Djokovic lost his lead by falling short of Czech Jiri Vesely in the quarterfinals of the Dubai tournament in the middle of last week. The 34-year-old Serbian player has already spent 361 weeks at the top of the list in his career - making it a record holder - and most recently led the rankings since February 3, 2020.

Meanwhile, Medvedev, who had a disadvantage of just 440 points last week, was in the semi-finals of the tournament in Acapulco. There, he got out of 21-time Grand Slam tournament winner Rafael Nadal, who later proved to be the best in the final as well. Medvedev has become the 27th leader in the men's world rankings, and he is the first to be at the top of the rankings since February 1, 2004, in addition to Djokovic, Roger Federer, Nadal and Andy Murray.

In the top 15, five doubles swapped places.

The Hungarians in the new world rankings in 300 improved their position so that their points remained unchanged. Márton Fucsovics, moving forward one place in the 35th, Piros Zsombor improved by sixth 240, while Attila Balázs, who has been unable to fight for months, jumped four places 245.
