Chad Le Clos, the Olympic champion of the South Africans, will no longer swim at the world championships taking place in the Duna Arena.
The 30-year-old athlete entered in three events, in the 50-meter butterfly on Saturday, in the qualifying round (he finished 33rd), but on Monday, the public could no longer see him in his favorite event, the 200-meter butterfly.
The leader of the South African team reported on the spot that one of the fans' favorites had withdrawn from further fights due to health reasons, where he would have been interested in the 100-meter butterfly.
Le Clos won the 200-meter butterfly at the London Olympics in 2012 by defeating Michael Phelps, he also has a silver in the 100-meter butterfly from the British capital, and from Rio in 2016 - in a memorable three-way tie with Phelps and László Cseh. He won four times at the World Championships, in 2013 in Barcelona and in 2017 in Budapest, he was first in the 200-meter butterfly, which is currently held by the reigning Olympic champion and world record holder Kristóf Milák.
