Russian Marija Sarapova, who retired in February this year, underwent a doping control 12 times last year among tennis players. Most often, women were inspected in 2019 by Viktor Kuzmova of Slovakia and Chung Hjon of South Korea by men.
The data was provided by the Russian news agency TASZSZ on Thursday, referring to the statements of the International Federation of Sports (ITF). Sarapova, along with dozens of controls, graduated in the “beaten field,” as even several of her compatriots overtook the sample most often in the tax register.
The title of Russian female tennis player most often tested in 2019 may be held by Yekaterina Alexander , who has been inspected 27 times, followed by Anna Blinkova with 26 and Darya Kasatkina with 25. The absolute first place was won by Viktor Kuzmová from Slovakia, who gave samples no less than 34 times last year.
Among the Russians, Andrei Rublev met most of the doping controllers, was tested 25 times, and 18 of his compatriots, Danyil Medvedev, were also sought after, and Karen Khachanov , 15.
At the forefront of the international field, tennis clean-ups were also frequented: Roger Federer of Switzerland and Rafael Nadal of Spain were inspected 29 times last year alike, but South Korea’s Chung Hjon is the leader with 34 samples.
