Australian Open - According to the tournament director, Djokovic is the favorite

The director of the Australian Open tennis championship warmly welcomed Novak Djokovic to Australia a year after the Serbian world star was banned from the country due to the lack of vaccination against the coronavirus, at the end of a long drawn-out process, and thus could not start in the 2022 tournament.

Craig Tiley not only greeted the nine-time champion of the Australian Open, but also clearly called him the favorite of the men's competition.

"I think he's landing in Adelaide as we speak and I think he's going to be the player to beat for the title," Tiley praised Djokovic.

Novak Djokovic traveled to Melbourne in January 2022 as a three-time defending champion, but he was not allowed to enter Australia at the airport due to his lack of vaccinations. He later got his visa back following a court decision, then trained several times at the competition venue and was also an opponent in the draw, but then his entry permit was invalidated again, his appeal was finally rejected, and he had to travel home. In the 2023 competition, which starts on January 15, you will no longer have such a problem, since a vaccination certificate is no longer required to participate.
