Alpine World Championships - Due to the weather, races in Germany have been canceled

The women's Alpine skiers' World Cup series in Ofterschwang, Germany, will not be held next week.

The International Federation (FIS) said in a statement on Thursday that the condition of the trails was inadequate, given the recent snowfall in the area and the unusually warm temperatures in Bavaria, which do not allow snow guns to replenish enough snow.

Next Saturday, there would be a giant slalom race and the next day a slalom race in Ofterschwang.

The vk series will now feature only three venues for women this season: this weekend in Italy (La Thuile), mid-March in Sweden (Are), and a week later in Cortina d'Ampezzo, also in Italy.
