After a year and a half, time trial world champion Dennis won again

After a year and a half, time trial world champion Rohan Dennis was able to celebrate victory again, winning Tuesday’s stage in the Catalan road bike race, with Attila Valter finishing 33rd.

Ineos Grenadiers ’30-year Australian excellence triumphed on Tuesday in the 18.5-kilometer time trial around the Banyoles, less than two days and a half after winning the second World Championship title in the number in Harrogate on 25 September 2019. Dennis, then strengthening Bahrain-Merida, had already spent the past year with the British team, playing a significant role in helping the British Tao Geoghegan Hart win the Giro d’Italia in October as a helper during the truncated cycling season due to the pandemic.

The only Hungarian competitor of the race, Attila Valter, completed the stage with an average speed of 46,803 km / h and became 33rd, 1:16 minutes behind Dennis. After two days in the one-week Catalan circuit, the Portuguese Joao Almeida (Deceuninck - Quick-Step) is in the lead, the 22-year-old Hungarian cyclist of Groupama-FDJ with a disadvantage of over 88 minutes.
