A cyclist with a huge fall on the Giro was released from the hospital

He was able to leave the hospital by Luca Wackermann, who fell huge on Tuesday during the Giro d’Italia cycling circuit.

In the final stage of this year’s battle between Sicily, Catania and Villafranca Tirrena, Italian athlete and teammate Etienne van Empel of the Netherlands fell in a piece of cordon lining the track, which was stirred in front of them by a powerful air wave stirred by a helicopter.

Wackermann smashed himself badly and had to be transported to the hospital after the accident. As it turned out, the 28-year-old suffered a concussion, his nasal bone was broken in several places, severe bruises were formed on his face, chin, right knee, and it is possible that a bone was broken in his back as a result of the fall. The contestant spent Wednesday at a hospital in Messina, and his team, Vini Zabu-KTM, announced early Thursday morning that he could leave the institution and be repatriated later in the day.

Vini Zabu has already asked for those responsible to be traced and held accountable after the accident, and on Wednesday, the international cycling advocacy organization for professional cyclists turned to the sports association, the UCI, to launch an investigation into the matter.

Wackerman had to give up the 103rd Giro d'Italia. The field, on the other hand, will finish the sixth stage on Thursday, between Castrovillari and Matera. The Hungarian cyclist of the race, Attila Valter, has performed very well so far and is looking forward to the 33rd place overall.
