The legend of Parma has been extended until 2024

Gigi Buffon, the 44-year-old legendary Italian goalkeeper, has extended his contract with the Parma football team until 2024.

The veteran football player’s new deal was announced at a press conference on Monday. Under the contract, Buffon is sure to continue playing until he is 46 years old.

The net guard, who won the World Cup title with the Italian national team in 2006, began his career in Parma at the age of 13, and four years later he was at the forefront of the team's colors, winning the Italian Cup and the UEFA Cup in the 1998-99 season. The goalkeeper signed for Juventus in 2001, and since then he has played for Turin, except for the 2018-19 season at the French PSG. He confirmed his return to Parma last summer. During his career, he won the Italian championship ten times and the French championship once. He has been voted goalkeeper of the year 12 times in his home country and has been in the national team 176 times.
