The British government before continuing to fight in the Premier League

The UK Government’s Secretary of State for Sport has also been in talks with the English Football Premier League leaders with a view to relaunching the league as soon as possible.

In his speech to Parliament, Oliver Dowden reported that he had consulted with the leaders of the PL, with whom he would like to see the struggle resume as soon as possible by helping football society.

“Of course, whatever action is taken must be in line with health standards,” Dowden said.

The English cutting-edge championship has been on hiatus since 13 March and the suspension will certainly remain until Thursday, while strict restrictive measures will remain in place in the UK until 7 May.

Meanwhile, three London football clubs, Arsenal, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur, have already opened their training grounds and re-licensed training, albeit with restrictions and strict regulation. Brighton has done the same, and on Friday, representatives of the associations in the PL will discuss the possibilities of continuation in a telephone conference, but it seems feasible to settle the bets from June at the earliest.

On Tuesday, Watford President Scott Duxbury said he should not rush to restart the interrupted season, and this can only be done when it does not put additional strain on the country’s health system.

The coronavirus epidemic has killed more than 21,000 people in Britain so far.
