The Bayern Munich coach does not deal with overtime

Hansi Flick, head coach of Bayern Munich's football team, is not yet working on the contract extension.

“There are more important things to my future right now,” the 55-year-old coach referred to the German championship, which was suspended due to the coronavirus epidemic.

The defending Bavarians in the Bundesliga dismissed head coach Niko Kovac in early November, who was replaced by Flick on a temporary basis. The latter was the coach of the German national team between 2006 and 2014, arriving at the professional staff of the Munich team in July. CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge announced in December that the specialist will certainly remain a head coach until the end of the 2019/20 season.

“For my part, I believe the season will continue, I’m positive about things even if we can only play the remaining matches behind closed gates,” Flick said, adding that he could enjoy a joint workout outdoors for now.

Due to the coronavirus epidemic, there will certainly be no matches in the Bundesliga until 30 April. The decision to continue can be made at the earliest on Tuesday, at a general meeting with 36 clubs in the first and second divisions.
