In the history of the Hungarian national football team, he made it to the European Championship for the fourth time, as he defeated the Icelandic team 2-1 in the Puskás Arena in the final of Thursday's qualifier.
At the meeting, the Icelanders took the lead in the 11th minute, because Gylfi Sigurdsson's easy-to-catch free kick was "defended" by Péter Gulácsi. In the 88th minute, the substitute Nego equalized, then the goal for the European Championship was scored by Dominik Szoboszlai in the extra time, the ball was cut from the left goal post into the net.
For the first time in the history of the eighth finalist Hungarian national team four years ago, he made it to the mainland twice. At the European Championships postponed to next summer, he will be in the same group with the Germans, the world champion French and the defending Portuguese, with the latter two in the Puskás Arena.
The next time the Hungarians start is on Sunday, they will receive Serbia in the League of Nations.
