Rashford was injured and left out of England's European qualifying squad

Marcus Rashford was injured on Sunday, leaving him out of the England squad for the European Championship qualifiers.

The in-form 25-year-old forward was sent off during his club Manchester United's FA Cup quarter-final against Fulham, and will not be in the England squad for the last continental tournament.

Rashford has 30 goals for MU and the national team this season.

Gareth Southgate will be without Chelsea's Mason Mount and goalkeeper Nick Pope due to injury. The national team captain only invited a new man to replace the latter footballer, six-time international Fraser Forster, who plays for Tottenham Hotspur, who has not played for the Three Lions since 2016.

England will start the qualifying series against the defending champions Italy in Naples on Thursday, and three days later they will host the Ukrainians in London.
