Jürgen Klopp himself has a hard time believing his team Liverpool are nine points ahead of defending Manchester City, although they have only played 12 rounds of the English football season.
"It's crazy, nine points. It's almost unimaginable that such a thing could happen," the Reds' German head coach commented that after Sunday's 3-1 victory over City, his team led by 34 points and rivals by 25 points.
"Others say that Liverpool can now lose the title, but I think it's a very negative approach. Of course, it's their job, we don't care about it," Klopp said.
Champions League champion Liverpool is an 18-time English champion, but fans have been hoping for another final success since 1990.
Although 12 rounds have gone, another 26 are still in the 2019/2020 season, and Klopp doesn't want to be confident.
"Who wants to be first in November? The point is, who is first in May," he said.
Manchester City have won the Premier League in the previous two seasons, with Liverpool scoring just one point less than the championship this season.
