NB I - The defending champion Ferencváros visits Kecskemét

Ferencváros, the defending champion and the leader with a 100% record, will be the guest of third-ranked Kecskemét in the ninth round of the soccer OTP Bank League.

The green-white team leads the table with a four-point advantage over the second-placed Kisvárda, having played two matches less than its direct rivals. Head coach Stanislav Cherchesov's students can continue their march on the main table of the Europa League next Thursday after winning their first two group games at home against Trabzonspor and away against Monaco.

On paper, the team from Budapest is also a candidate for Sunday's championship clash, but at the same time, Kecskemét, who started the season very well, does not promise to be an easy opponent. The rookie is still undefeated at home this season - three wins, one draw - and in terms of his home matches, he has won three in a row.

The last time the sides clashed in the top flight was in 2014 - when the championship still had 16 teams - and the green and white team triumphed equally 3-1 in Kecskemét and Budapest. The last home success in Kecskemét goes back to September 2011, when the Bács-Kiskun county team won 1-0.

The second Kisvárda will be the guest of the ailing Újpest in the weekend round, while the fourth Puskás Akadémia will host its Fejér County rival, Fehérvár, in the final match on Sunday evening.

The undefeated team Vasas can try to improve its position in the sixth away game of Zalaegerszeg to Angelföld, while Paks will travel to the penultimate Mezőkövesd in the opening match on Friday evening. The old-new head coach, Attila Kuttor, who was appointed on September 14, will make his debut on the bench of the Borsod team.

There will be a similar introduction in Debrecen, on the occasion of Saturday's clash against Budapest Honvéd, Serbian Srdjan Blagojevic will be the head coach of DVSC for the first time, where he has been working since last Wednesday.
