NB I - Rangadó waits for the leader Ferencváros

Defending champion and towering leader Ferencváros will meet newcomer Kecskemét in second place on Saturday's game day of the 20th round of the OTP Bank League.

Although the green and whites, who are preparing for the round of 16 of the Europa League in March, have remained unbeaten in all five of their league matches this year, they are still indebted to their dominant, good play. The purple-white rival has also not lost in five rounds, but its deficit still increased to 14 points, because it was only able to win once.

One of the most interesting matches of the round will be Mezőkövesd's away game in Paks, because György Bognár is back on the bench for the home side after the mid-week coach change. The 61-year-old specialist returned to the green and whites after 270 days, who scored by far the most goals in the field between September 2020 and May 2022 under his management. The meeting will be important for both teams, because both teams are five points above the relegation zone.

Also on Saturday, the Fejér county rally will be held, which Puskás Academy and MOL Fehérvár are expecting with completely different signs. While the former wants to strengthen its position on the podium, and can even overtake Kecskemét by losing a point, the latter is surprisingly fighting to stay in. Head coach Szabolcs Huszti's team lost twice and drew once in their three games this year, so they are only two points ahead of relegation-placed Budapest Honvéd and three points ahead of hosts Vasas.

Among the two capital clubs in a difficult situation, the ones from Kispest will host Debrecen in the final match of the round on Sunday, while the Hungarian Cup quarter-finalists Angelfölds will visit Zalaegerszeg. Újpest, which is also fighting to avoid relegation, will be the guest of Kisvárda, which is competing for the podium places, in the opening match on Friday.
