Ralf Rangnick says Manchester United will remain the goal scorer, at least until the end of the season for sure.
Head coach Ralf Rangnick says he will complete his contract until the end of the season with Manchester United football team Edinson Cavani.
The 34-year-old Uruguayan national team striker has also been linked by the press to Barcelona and Juventus during the winter transfer, with other media reports saying the player will return to South America in January.
“He told me I could count on him until the end of the season and he wants to continue to set an example for our younger footballers,” Rangnick said on the MU website. The German specialist added that Cavani would "give it his all" even when he marks the starting line-up, but also when he enters the field as a substitute.
"He is one of the footballers with a very good mentality. He is very experienced and his work ethic is excellent, so he can set an example for other players," praised the Uruguayan striker Rangnick.
Manchester United will host Aston Villa in the third round of the FA Cup on Monday (tonight) and will be a guest of the Birmingham band in the 22nd round of the Premier League on Saturday.
