From the summer, Erik ten Hag, who manages Ajax Amsterdam, will sit on the bench of the Manchester United football team.
The English club announced on its website on Thursday that the 52-year-old specialist will sign a contract until June 2025, which can be extended by another year.
"It is a huge honor to be appointed manager of Manchester United, I am very excited about the challenge ahead of me. I am aware of the fantastic history of the club, the passion of the fans, my goal is to create a team that can achieve great success," said Erik ten Hag.
The coach noted that it will be difficult for him to leave Ajax, but at the same time he assures the fans that he will strive to finish the season successfully.
Erik ten Hag has been in charge of the Amsterdam team since December 2017, in 210 matches he has 156 wins, 25 draws and 29 defeats, two league titles and a cup victory in the Netherlands. In addition, he led the team to the semi-finals in 2019 and to the round of 16 in the Champions League this year .
MU - managed by the German Ralf Rangnick until the end of the season - is in sixth place in the Premier League with five rounds to go.
