He attacked the goalkeeper, the fan who forgot about himself received a serious punishment

The Dutch fan who attacked the visitors' goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic during the Europa League match between PSV Eindhoven and Sevilla was banned from the Philips Stadium for 40 years.

During the match played on February 23, the man in the dark jacket and hood ran onto the playing field during extra time, attacked the 31-year-old Serbian football player, punched him in the face, but he defended himself, knocked down his attacker and kept him on the ground until the others player got there, and finally the security arrived. The goalkeeper, who played in Újpest between 2013 and 2015, was not injured.

The 20-year-old attacker had previously participated in two disturbances, which is why he was banned from the stadium by the Dutch association and the local authorities. Nevertheless, he was at the meeting - a friend bought him the ticket - and committed his act under the influence of alcohol.

The man was sentenced to three months in prison on March 8, and the European Football Association initiated disciplinary proceedings in the case. Regarding the latter, PSV has now announced that they will initiate proceedings against the man in order to compensate for the damage he caused.

The Eindhoven team won the match 2-0, but the Spaniards reached the round of 16 with a 3-2 aggregate score.
