Montreal Impact, a member of the North American Football League (MLS), has contracted Victor Wanyama of Kenya from Tottenham Hotspur.
The 28-year-old midfielder qualified for the London band in the summer of 2016, having played in 97 matches, but has only had a chance in two matches this season. Therefore, he said, he was happy to say yes to the Canadian Guard, with Thierry Henry as head coach.
"When I talked to Thierry and told me he wanted me to justify it to them, I didn't have to think much about it. As a player, I've always admired and am very happy to work with him," said the 60-time Kenyan national football player, who signed an agreement with his new club.
