EURO-2020 - The world and European champions will play twice in Budapest

The world champion French and the defending Portuguese national team also joined the semi-Budapest squad on Saturday for next year's European Football Championship draw in Bucharest, both playing at Puskás Arena.

If the Hungarian team qualifies for the Continental Fight in the March qualifying round, they will be in a quartet with these three teams, and they could fight the World Championship and the European Championship on their home turf. If qualified, the Hungarians would start against Portugal on June 16, then play against France on June 20, and Germany would be in Munich another four days later.

"I've said before that I've never had a chance in the draws, and it has proven to be today. This is clearly the hardest group to qualify for: three of our opponents are much stronger than three of our four semifinals in the 2016 European Championship. There is a fourth, and we played in the qualifiers, "Marco Rossi, the Hungarian captain of the Hungarian national team, said.

According to the Italian trainer, the match against Bulgaria will not be easy in the qualifying round and if they win, they may have to play "very strong" with Iceland on the domestic field. The other opponent may be Romania in the final round.

Iceland and Bulgaria could still qualify for Group F of the League A Division of the League of Nations, but if Romania wins the top four, they would go to Part C of Bucharest as a director, so the winner of the D Division would be the fourth "Death Group". The lower division substitute qualifiers are Kosovo, Belarus, Northern Macedonia and Georgia.

Another interesting thing about the draw was that Croatia and England were in the same quadruple, thus "repeating" last year's World Cup semi-final, which was won by 2-1 for the later Croatian Croats who had just finished in the Hungarian qualifiers. The English will have another opponent, the Czech Republic, as they were in the same qualifying group. So did the Spanish and Swedish national teams.

The draw also revealed that Rome will start with an Italian-Turkish opening match on June 12, which will take place in 12 cities in 12 countries. Budapest will host an eighth final on June 28 with three group matches. One of the top 16 performers in Budapest will be the winner of Group C, with the Netherlands, Ukraine and Austria currently being members of this group.

Groups of the EU 2020:

Group A (Rome and Baku): Turkey, Italy, Wales, Switzerland

B (Copenhagen and St. Petersburg): Denmark, Finland, Belgium, Russia

C (Amsterdam and Bucharest): Netherlands, Ukraine, Austria, Division D winner or Romania

D (London & Glasgow): England, Croatia, Division C winner, Czech Republic

E (Bilbao and Dublin): Spain, Sweden, Poland, Division B winner

F (Munich and Budapest / Puskás Arena): Winner of the division (except Romania, because then winner of the D), Germany, France, Portugal

Semi-Final Qualifiers (March 26):

The division: Bulgaria-Hungary and Iceland-Romania

Division B: Bosnia and Herzegovina - Northern Ireland and Slovakia - Ireland

Division C: Scotland-Israel and Norway-Serbia

Division D: Georgia-Belarus and Northern Macedonia - Kosovo

The finals will be held on March 31st, with the winners getting to the Eb.
