Cristiano Ronaldo: I won everything in Europe

In Europe, he won everything he planned - stated the five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, who signed a two-year contract with the al-Nassr football team on Friday.

"I'm lucky, I won everything I planned in Europe, I feel this is the right moment to gain new experiences in Asia," said the 37-year-old forward.

Since June, the head coach of Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia is Rudi Garcia, who previously coached Lille, AS Roma, Olympique Marseille and Olympique Lyon, among others. Among others, Ronaldo's teammates will be Cameroonian Vincent Aboubakar, who scored against Serbia and Brazil at the World Cup in Qatar, Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina, who previously strengthened Arsenal and Napoli, and former Brazilian international Luiz Gustavo, who also visited Bayern Munich.

The club called the confirmation "historic", even the country's Minister of Sports, Abdulaziz bin Turki al Saud, welcomed the footballer.

"One of the best of all time is starting his new adventure in Saudi Arabia," the minister wrote on his social media page.

According to media reports, Ronaldo received a €200 million per year contract from his new team, which he joined as a free agent after terminating his contract with Manchester United at the end of November.

The Portuguese classic is talking about one of his previous main goals when he signed a contract with Asia, to increase the number of Champions League titles and goals. He has five of the former and 140 of the latter, leading his BL all-time ranking list. Behind him in the ranking is second with 129 - the recent World Cup winner with the Argentine national team - Lionel Messi, who still has the opportunity to increase his number of goals in Paris Saint-Germain.

Ronaldo also appeared at the World Cup in Qatar, which ended on December 18, where the Portuguese lost in the quarter-finals. Saudi football, on the other hand, achieved its greatest success in its history despite the fact that its national team was eliminated in the group stage, as it overcame a deficit in the opening round to beat the later gold medalist Argentina national team 2-1.

Cristiano Ronaldo appeared in Sporting Lisboa, then became a star in Manchester United. He later played for Real Madrid and Juventus before returning to the English team. He became European champion with the Portuguese national team in 2016, and the 118 goals he scored in the national team is a world record.
