Defending champion and leader Bayern Munich will play at the home of Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday. The Bavarians started the year modestly, with three draws, but they have already collected three points in the last two rounds, and on Tuesday they were also able to win in the Champions League. After the 1-0 success in the round of 16 at the home of Paris Saint-Germain, the march can continue as a guest of the tenth Gladbach.
Union Berlin, which is second by one point, will play another match in the Europa League on Thursday (today) and then host Schalke on Sunday. Without the injured András Schäfer, the capital team's record in 2023 is five out of five wins in the Bundesliga, so they are surefire contenders for the meeting.
Like Union, third-placed Borussia Dortmund is also at 100 percent this year, and they also beat Chelsea in the BL on Wednesday night. In the weekend round, Hertha BSC, fighting against relegation, visits Signal Iduna Park, where this season only Werder Bremen could win back in August, and apart from that, only Bayern scored a point. Hertha has lost the last five away championships in the same way.
The fourth-placed Freiburg, which employs Roland Sallai, will be the guest of Bochum on Saturday, and RB Leipzig, which has collected only one point in the last two rounds, will play at the home of Wolfsburg, which is showing fluctuating form. Péter Gulácsi is injured at Leipzig, but Dominik Szoboszlai and Willi Orbán are expected to be in the starting team.
Currently, Eintracht Frankfurt is sixth, but if the results are favorable for them and they beat Werder Bremen, they can jump up to fourth place by Sunday evening.
