Beckham is the UEFA Presidential Special Prize

David Beckham will receive the special prize of the European Football Association (UEFA) this year.

The continental organization announced Tuesday that the former team captain of the English national team had deserved recognition for his unparalleled career and humanitarian aspirations.

"Beckham is one of the most prominent footballers in his generation, who promotes football as a football ambassador worldwide," said Slovenian President UEFA, Aleksander Ceferin, recalling his election, recalling that the presidential prize is an outstanding achievement, professional attitude and exemplary personal qualities. He added that due to tireless humanitarian efforts by the former player, he helped many hard-working children.

In the 43-year-old Bechkam club teams and the national team he played 762 times and scored 130 goals. During his career he won six times in the English Championships, twice in the FA Cup and once in the Champions League before he contracted from Manchester United to Real Madrid. He also became a champion with the Spanish band and then contracted to North America, Los Angeles Galaxy. He took two short stakes in the AC Milan and then Paris Saint-Germain.

The 115-year-old midfielder is third in Bobby Robson (2002) and Bobby Charlton (2008).

Beckham declared after the announcement that he was proud to join the award for the previously acclaimed players.

Appreciation will be handed over at UEFA's end of the year.
