According to Dibusz, Ferencváros will need discipline and patience against Leverkusen

According to Dénes Dibusz, the football team of Ferencváros will most of all need discipline and patience on Thursday, in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 16 match against Bayer Leverkusen away from home.

The Hungarian national team goalkeeper made a statement to the public media before leaving on Tuesday. He said: they have been waiting for this match since mid-November, and since Friday's league match against Mezőkövesd, only this match has been in focus.

"We are not expected to control the game away from home, this is a change compared to the champions. We prepared in the spirit of this, the most important thing is to have a stable, closed defense. And we have already shown that if this works, then our fast men in front are capable of getting behind his defense to play into the areas that open up," said the goalkeeper.

"Discipline and patience are needed, we must not open up. In the first match last season, the heat took us away twice, and we were immediately punished for that," Dibusz referred to the last clash between the two teams in Germany. The two teams then met in the group stage, and Ferencváros was in the lead in Leverkusen, but in the end suffered a 2-1 defeat, but won 1-0 in the second leg in Budapest.

The 32-year-old goalkeeper noted: of course, they want to win in every match, and in this match they must achieve a result with the means at their disposal, which can be a good basis for next week's rematch at Puskás Arena.

From the defense, Endre Botka could only cheer for his teammates on television last season, but now he is confident that he can experience the atmosphere of the home of the Bundesliga team on the field:

"This year, these are the two matches for which we train every day, here we have to show what we are capable of. Of course, we want to win every match, but now the most important thing is not to lose at all. I would be satisfied with a draw away from home and a win at home ." - he declared.

Ferencváros will play at the BayArena on Thursday at 18:45, the match will be broadcast live by M4 Sport.
