Abramovic fired Lampard, Tuchel could arrive in London

Chelsea, who finished ninth in the English football league, drove Frank Lampard out of the head coach position on Monday. According to the news, the successor to the club legend may be Thomas Tuchel, who was recently sent from Paris.

In a statement from the London club, owner Roman Abramovics said it was not easy to make the decision because he has great respect for Lampard and their personal relationship is excellent.

"Nevertheless, in the current circumstances, we believe the best decision is to change coaches," the statement quoted the Russian owner as saying.

According to consistent British media reports, Lampard could be followed by Thomas Tuchel on the band's small bench. The 47-year-old German specialist was ousted at the end of December from French championship champion Paris Saint-Germain. Tuchel was assisted by Zsolt Löw as a second coach in Paris, and the Hungarian expert stated that he would most likely stay with the German coach in the sequel.

Chelsea have lost five of their last eight league matches, slipping significantly back on the table. The Blues scored 29 points in 19 games and are 11 ahead of list leader Manchester United, with Wolverhampton betting on Wednesday in the 20th round on Wednesday.

42-year-old Lampard, Chelsea’s former excellent midfielder, has led the team as head coach since July 2019, winning the Champions League and three English league titles as a player, and becoming the most successful footballer in the club’s history.
