NBA - here’s another plan for the start of the season

The next season of the North American Basketball Championship (NBA) could begin just before Christmas.

According to consistent U.S. press reports, the league recommended a start on December 22 for club owners. No decision has yet been made at the meeting, and the players' union will even be consulted by the end of the month.

The plan is that due to the coronavirus epidemic, the regular season will be slightly shorter than usual, with each team playing 70-72 matches instead of 82. This would allow the June season to close, meaning it would avoid a collision with the Tokyo Olympics postponed to next summer, which is scheduled to begin on July 23rd.

In addition, further measures are expected in relation to the program in order to reduce the number of trips and contacts. The All Star weekend in Indianapolis is expected to be missed, but with the bubble system ending last season, they are not planned yet.

The 2019/2020 season of the NBA ended in Orlando, with the Los Angeles Lakers proving to be the best of the teams that moved in, celebrating the 17th league title in two weeks of history.
